Ask for a review
A personal review request, one reminder, and prompts for specific reviews.
What it does
Writes a personal review request, one gentle reminder and a few prompts that help a happy client write something specific. Replaces the review you never ask for because it feels awkward.
Use it when
The week a job finishes well, or when a client says something kind.
What you need
- The client, the job and anything kind they've said
- Your review link
- Your brain file Use the template
Connect these for better results
- Gmail (MCP connector)Finds the client's kind words in your inbox and can save the request as a draft. Claude's built-in connector; check availability on your plan.
The prompt
Copy it, fill in the [BRACKETS], and paste it into Claude.
Use my brain file (in this Project, or pasted below) for how we sound. If you don't have it, ask me for the basics first.
Client: [NAME]
What we did for them: [THE JOB, AND WHEN IT FINISHED]
Anything they've said that shows they're happy: [PASTE THEIR WORDS EXACTLY, OR "NOTHING YET"]
Where I want the review: [YOUR GOOGLE REVIEW LINK, FACEBOOK PAGE, OR "A QUOTE FOR MY WEBSITE"]
Write:
1. A short email asking for the review, under 100 words, plus a two-line text message version. Mention the actual job, include the one link, and make it easy to say no.
2. Three questions they can answer if they don't know what to write (what it was like before, what changed, who they'd recommend us to), so the review is specific. Don't write the review for them.
3. One reminder for a week later, under 50 words. Only one.
4. If they've already said something kind in writing, a line asking permission to quote it exactly, with their name or anonymously.
Rules: no rewards or discounts for reviews, don't ask for five stars, and don't hand them a ready-made review to copy (review sites and consumer law don't allow it). Use only facts from my brain file and this message.
Last step before you reply: check every number, date, time, timeframe, cost, name and "usually" in your draft against my brain file and this message. Replace anything that isn't there with [ADD: what's needed].
