Sydney · NSW
Local SEO in Sydney, for businesses that service more suburbs than they rank in.
Sydney is the most expensive search market in Australia, and the geography makes it worse. A business in Parramatta competing for generic city-wide terms is bidding against the CBD, the North Shore and the Inner West simultaneously. Ranking at suburb level costs a fraction of that and converts better, because someone searching with their suburb attached has already decided to buy.

The Sydney market
What is actually different here.
Sydney is not one market. It is a dozen, separated by the harbour, the Parramatta River and travel times that make a business in Manly practically irrelevant to someone in Liverpool. Bidding on "Sydney" as a keyword means paying for clicks from people who will never use you because you are forty minutes and a toll road away.
The city's commercial centres behave like separate cities in search. Parramatta, Chatswood, Macquarie Park, Norwest and the CBD each have their own competitive set. A business that ranks well in one is frequently invisible in the others, and closing that gap is usually cheaper than competing harder in the one they already own.
It is also the most contested SEO market in the country. Search volumes and click costs are the highest in Australia, which means paid traffic is expensive and the return on organic coverage is correspondingly higher.
Where we work in Sydney

What is included
What you get, and what it costs.
The number depends on how many suburbs you need coverage in and how much of the technical foundation already exists. A business needing ten suburb pages and a Business Profile cleanup sits at the lower end. One needing sixty pages, schema across an existing site and content production sits at the upper end.
We are Melbourne based and we run Sydney engagements remotely, which keeps your cost down and makes no difference to the work. To be straight with you: we have more Melbourne clients than Sydney ones. What we do have is the system, proven at scale, including one build of 1,085 location pages that reached 31 page-one keywords in month one.

Sydney questions, answered straight.
Including what it costs, whether we cover your area, and where being Melbourne based does and does not matter.
How much does local SEO cost in Sydney?
Our engagements run $2,500 to $5,000 a month depending on how many suburbs you need coverage in and what already exists technically. Sydney agencies commonly quote higher, partly because click costs here are the highest in the country and pricing tends to follow the market rather than the work. Ask any agency what the deliverable count is per month, because that is the number that varies most.
Do you service my area of Sydney?
Yes. We work with businesses across Greater Sydney, from the CBD and North Shore through Parramatta and the Hills, out to the South West growth corridor, and into Newcastle, Wollongong and the Central Coast. The work is identical wherever you are, because it happens in your website and your Business Profile rather than at your address.
You are based in Melbourne. Does that matter?
For the build, no. Suburb pages, schema, Business Profile work and content systems are done remotely and are no different for it. Where being local helps is the diagnosis week, when we are mapping how enquiries actually move through your business, so for larger Sydney engagements we fly up for that part. We would rather say this plainly than pretend to a Sydney office we do not have.
How long before we see results in Sydney?
Suburb pages in less contested areas, the South West and outer West particularly, often move within four to eight weeks. Inner city and North Shore terms take longer, three to six months, because the incumbents have years of authority. We start where the wins are fastest so the programme funds itself early.
Can you help us get found in ChatGPT and Perplexity too?
That is half of what we do. A growing share of local searches now get answered by an assistant naming two or three businesses rather than by a list of links, and the signals that drive it are different from ranking signals. It is covered on our AI SEO page and it is included, not an upsell.
Do we need a Sydney address to rank in Sydney?
No, and do not invent one. Google removes fake addresses and suspends the profile. What you need is a genuine service area set correctly on your Business Profile, plus content that demonstrates you actually work in those suburbs. A service area business ranks perfectly well without a shopfront.
