Your one-page brain file
A one-page file that stops the AI guessing about your business.
What it does
Interviews you about your business and writes a one-page file the AI reads before every job. Replaces re-explaining your business at the top of every chat.
Use it when
First. Before any other code on this list. Update it when your offer or prices change.
What you need
- Your offers and prices
- A few phrases customers actually use
- What you never want said
- The full fill-in version, if you'd rather type than be interviewed Use the template
Connect these for better results
- Google Drive (MCP connector)Claude can read your existing price list, service pages and old proposals while it interviews you, so it asks fewer questions. Claude's built-in connector; check availability on your plan.
The prompt
Copy it, fill in the [BRACKETS], and paste it into Claude.
Help me write a one-page brain file about my business. You'll use it as background for everything I ask you to do from now on.
Here's what I can tell you right now (rough is fine, dictate it if you like):
[WHAT YOU SELL, WHO BUYS IT, WHAT IT COSTS, HOW YOU LIKE TO SOUND, ANYTHING YOU NEVER WANT SAID]
Do this:
1. Ask me up to eight short questions to fill the gaps, all in one message, numbered. Skip anything I've already answered.
2. When I reply, write the brain file in markdown under exactly these headings:
- What we sell: each offer, who it's for, the price or price range, what the customer walks away with
- What we don't sell: the jobs we turn down and the things people wrongly assume we do
- Who buys: the situation they're in when they contact us, what they've already tried, what they're worried about
- Their words: phrases customers actually use, exactly as I gave them
- How we sound: five rules that can be checked (like "short sentences" or "no exclamation marks"), plus words we never use
- What we can prove: only facts I've given you, and where the evidence lives
- How we work: hours, how to reach us, payment terms, typical turnaround times, what happens if someone leaves. Only what I've told you
- Red lines: what you must never invent, never include and never send without me checking
- Open questions: anything still missing
3. Keep it to one page. Use my words, not marketing words.
4. Don't invent anything. No numbers, names, reviews or results I didn't give you, and don't turn one example into "usually". If something's missing, put it under Open questions. Save the result as brain.md. In Claude.ai, add it to a Project's files so every chat in that Project starts with it.
