You finish with
A logo brief, three concept directions, and one direction built as a working draft in a free design tool.
Why it matters
You need something consistent on your profile, website and invoices. Be realistic about AI image tools: they give you a starting sketch, often with garbled lettering, so build the clean version yourself in a design tool, or hand the brief to a designer.
What you need
- Your name and brand sheet
Connect these for better results
- Canva (MCP connector)Builds a first draft of the chosen direction for you to finish. Claude's built-in connector; check availability on your plan.
The prompt
Copy it, fill in the [BRACKETS], and paste it into Claude.
Help me brief a logo. Don't try to design the final logo. I want a clear brief and three concept directions I can try.
Business name: [NAME]
What it does, in one line: [YOUR OFFER]
Brand sheet (colours, fonts, feel): [PASTE IT]
Where the logo will appear: [E.G. SOCIAL PROFILE, WEBSITE, INVOICES, SIGNAGE, UNIFORMS]
Logos I like, and why: [OPTIONAL]
Give me:
1. A one-page logo brief: what it must communicate, where it will be used, the sizes it must work at (including tiny, like a profile picture), colours and fonts, and what to avoid.
2. Three concept directions. For each: the idea in one sentence, what it looks like (shapes, layout, lettering), why it suits the business, and the risk (too generic, hard to read small, and so on).
3. For each direction, a short prompt I can paste into an image tool for a rough sketch, plus step-by-step instructions to build a clean version in Canva using its text and shape tools.
4. A test list: does it read at small sizes, in one colour, and on both dark and light backgrounds?
If I'm planning to spend serious money on signage or register a trade mark, remind me to have a designer finish it. No dollar figures, costs or quantities anywhere in your answer: tell me how to get a quote instead. Done when: You have one logo that passes the test list, saved as a file you can put on your profile and invoices.
